After four years of living in Korea, something happened that I never expected – I was robbed. The person who took my things was an elderly Korean woman. She took all of my bags, my bank cards, and my foreign resident ID card. Somehow, though, she took the time to remove a loaf of bread from one of my bags and leave it behind. Even now, that detail feels so surreal that I almost don’t know whether to laugh or cry The video you’re watching was filmed shortly after everything happened and after my visit to police. I had just spoken with the police and was still in shock. You can probably see that I’m on the verge of a breakdown, although at that point I wasn’t crying yet because I genuinely believed I would get a phone call the next day saying that my belongings had been found The police were actually able to identify the woman on CCTV footage the same day. Because of that, I assumed things would move quickly But now almost a week has passed My case has only recently been transferred to the department that will be handling it, and honestly, I’m feeling confused, scared, and overwhelmed. Maybe there are procedures and legal processes that I simply don’t understand. I’m not trying to accuse anyone or attack anyone. I know investigations take time I think what makes this situation especially difficult is that I’m a foreigner. I don’t have my documents. I don’t have my cards. Some of the stolen items included cards from my home country and many personal belongings that are not easy to replace And if I’m being honest, if my friend hadn’t been with me that day, I don’t even know what I would have done I also want to say a huge thank you to the korean men who helped us that day. They helped us contact the police and even checked the cameras from their parked cars. Without their kindness and willingness to help, I honestly don’t know if the woman would have been identified in the first place Right now I’m left with a lot of questions and uncertainty. Mostly, I’m just hoping that the investigation is moving forward and that my belongings can still be recovered. I hope that despite being a foreigner, my case will be treated with care and that everything possible will be done to find my things The only thing I can confidently say about the woman who stole my bags is that she apparently has excellent taste. On that day we had been filming content, so alongside my documents and cards, those bags were full of some very good fashion pieces At this point, all I really want is for my belongings to be found and returned to me. I don’t even want to pursue anything against this woman personally what she did is something she’ll have to live with herself I just want my things back I’m trying to stay hopeful and trust that the case is being handled and investigated properly. More than anything, I hope my belongings can still be recovered and that, in the end, justice will prevail #fyp #korea
