World Migratory Bird Day is happening the same day, which means we will be one of thousands of groups out appreciating migration season and bringing attention to conservation. And the timing could not be better. Mid April through mid May is peak spring migration in our region, so tomorrow is right in the heart of it. BirdCast and local reporting regularly describe this period as a major surge, with hundreds of millions of birds on the move, and the Chicago area entering its peak stretch.
