My mom feeds a colony in her neighborhood. She fixes and treats all she can. On her own dime. Two have decided that inside her house is better. She now has three cats.

My two girls are fixed and go outside on harnesses. You can take them outside supervised, they love it and it gives them more enrichment in their life ❤️

I have indoor cats, but we’ve built them a cat patio and are never left alone unsupervised. The only issues we have with that set up is that they scream at us to go out when it’s -30 lol

I LOVE that our shelter has a TNR program, so we can call in and tell them where strays are and they will come trap them. it has MASSIVELY cut down on the number of strays in the last few years.

Real outdoor cats are for farms. My cats go on a short adventure and stay in the yard mostly. But they do have a playing cat buddy that visits our yard daily. (Our cats are only allowed outside when it’s warm and we can keep the door open). But our cats come inside for their meals and are always close by, and we check them regularly on thick’s etc.

I agree - all of our barn cats are fixed, have all their shots and get flea and worm treatment as needed. We've converted feral cats as much as we can. Lately we've been working with an organization that does a capture release where they fix vaccinate and release feral cats for those we haavent been able to get ourselves. That way they can live their best life without adding to the world.
