The license he popped up is a residential contractor license not a general contractor. The requirements are correct for his residential license. For a general license you will need 4 years as a foreman or super one of which on a project 4 stories or greater. Or college degree and one year 4 stories or greater experience along with a slew of other minimum experience requirements for steal, concrete, masonry, ect...

get worker comp insurance online from state 20 minutes, get liability insurance from any business insurance company, 30 minutes, drive down to county office wait in line, 1 hour , give country worker copy of both insurance forms, fill out paper work, pay 285 to county. Now you are a lienced General contractor in the stste of Ohio. total time required 1/2 day. total cost $2500
