I’m a phlebotomist that precepts Phelb students and drives me crazy when they tell my pts to make a fist or pump… I instantly tell the pt not too and explain same thing to both student and pt… but if elevated it has to be repeated and quest gets pd again so of course they don’t care…

Every phlebotomist does it slightly differently. I wouldn’t need to palpate this either. Although not all tests you can use a tourniquet or have them pump their fist
