My husband has driven a semi for years. Everyone is going to make mistakes, but to mess with them intentionally is NOT a good idea. They can't stop like a regular vehicle.

My dad is a retired truck driver. He has seen so many accidents and told me when I got my license if I ever pulled out in front of a semi truck he would take my license. Then explained the force of the load and the weight of the truck, the time it takes too stop it. I respect them plain and simple.

@leonacatnip: About 20 years ago I was on my way to pick up my ex husband and drove into a extremely heavy rain I could not see any thing but the lights on the back of the simi ahead of me I stayed behind him all the way through it. When he turned and I had to go straight he honked and waved at me. This man knew I was behind him and he lead me through the storm. Respect the drivers

When passing a semi on the highway, I wait till I can see both headlights in my rearview mirror before getting in the lane in front of the semi. They are huge and heavy!!!

I passed a semi and pulled in front of him between him and another car. I ended up having to hit my brakes because I didn’t realize just how slow the car in front of him was going. I didn’t cut off the truck, I had zero intention of having to hit my brakes, there was plenty of room until suddenly there wasn’t. I just didn’t realize how slow the other car was going. The semi honked at me. I honestly don’t blame him but that car was going way below the speed limit on the freeway. I was highly irritated by that car, I would have moved back into that other lane but by that point there was too much traffic. Going well below the posted speed limit when there isn’t a reason is super dangerous. If you can not drive the speed limit you have no business driving at all!

When I accompanied my husband on his long haul trips in his b-double (semi plus another trailer), I learned so much about driving around trucks. Blind spots, stopping distances. It should be mandatory to go with a truckie as part of getting your car licence. I have never driven the same around big vehicles 👀🇦🇺

I live in Houston and during my morning commutes I try to make it a point to let them in front of me when they are trying to change lanes. People are assholes and I feel like they have a stressful job as is and if I can make their job a little easier I am happy to let them through.

Even if the semi truck does slam on their brakes immediately, those mfs are heavy which means they will not be able to stop near as fast as a small car.
