@summithound: Dog parks can be risky because you’re mixing multiple dogs with unknown training, behavior, and boundaries in one uncontrolled space. Many owners can’t properly read dog body language or stop tension before it escalates, which increases the chances of fights, injuries, resource guarding, or dominance issues — especially with powerful breeds. Even friendly dogs can become overstimulated, develop bad habits, pick up reactivity, or catch illnesses and parasites from poorly managed interactions.
