It's kinda silly, but my conception of death is heavily influenced by Mufasa's quote in The Lion King: "When we die, our bodies become the grass, and the antelope eat the grass. And so, we are all connected in the great Circle of Life." That in combination with Pocahontas' quote in Colors of the Wind ("But I know every rock and tree and creature Has a life, has a spirit, has a name") has soothed me since childhood in a way, that I never really feared death.

I want to thank whoever dropped the Tibetan book of the dead in the philosophy section of B&N today. I opened to 2 random pages and found the same exact confirmation (different, but also the same… all confirmations regarding me) that I am/was linked in to the Tibetan process of death/rebirth. It is 100% all connected. The Bible authors were merging the eastern/western religions. My best assumption at this time was the Jewish people were “caught” and it was the only option. The Jewish people have absolutely never cared about their common man… even their own kind. But by declaring their “divine lineage” they could contain their people. Something happened that forced their hand to “share” their beliefs into Christianity. It was not a “friendly” move. It was to contain/control people. You cannot prove it…. But stay away from any spiritual people who practice any kind of “mystery” or “secrets”. Italy seems to be the supply chain of pagan lineage practices since tarot was published in the early 1900s. They were containing the truth.

Our ego seems to want some sort of story that we are comfortable with, ultimately. The funny thing is that the actual truth of things does not need any given person's acceptence. If life is eternal via transformations, natures cycles, conscious, and unconscious the preferred story is only relevent for a short time. We, always assume that our own perspective in this life that we are experiencing is the onlytrue perspective and the only attachment to life that matters is this singular personality. But the reality might just be that we forget infinity and the eternity, itself, because it won't fit in our tiny brains or even crazier that we chose to forget for reasons I don't pretend to understand.

What’s your opinion on the book journey of souls? As someone not religious it’s been very comforting

Ok I’m with you, I don’t believe anything anymore. but… why is it so bad to keep a story, especially for loved ones dying? For some people that are sensitive, creating a story can be a good coping strategy to prevent the feeling of devastating loss. I don’t do this but can see that “facing reality” can become some sort of competition and “doing it right”.

I’m an atheist humanist and am absolutely comfortable with death. I look at it from a scientific perspective and understand that eventually my particles will get recycled.

I need to cling onto a tiny bit of a story sometimes because I start to think about how we’re going to make so many advances and answer so many questions after I die and I have to have that teeny bit of hope that maybe I can be a ghost and watch 😂

I’m curious what you think about psychics, astrology, and mediums? I’ve had some interesting experiences that felt very comforting at the time, but I’ve also had doubts regarding them. I always appreciate your takes and would like to hear your insight.
