@teetoldyou: South African schools are still enforcing compulsory hair shaving for female students. I have questions. Drop your experience in the comments #southafrica #naijatiktok #diasporatiktok #naturalhair #fyp
Colonial sequels + patriarchy * depophiles + misogyny + pick me mothers + child hyper 🎷 lisation + child abuse + lack awareness = the result right there

This school is in KZN, it's part of their uniform and nobody is forced to study in that school, it's their choice and their parents actually they love it like this, nothing sad about this

as south africans we come from different backgrounds, so it is meant for everybody to be seen as equals no judgement no presure

I went to the same high school.
I'm grateful I did,
-Taught me to love myself just the way I am, to see and accept people the same way.
-To understand the light i carry within that is more attractive than the physical.
-Taught me how capable my brain is, to stay focused and grounded, ambition was on another level.
-There was less pressure for dating, so only started much later (which saved me from alot of things)

how does hair affect learning. I understand that school might want you to tie it, so it doesn't get in your face. but taking away confidence from young ladies in already stressful moment of their lives is awful choice

For me i see that as a good thing , let's say your parents can only afford school funds and earn little to give you for spending so where will you get money to fix hair cause we all know hair needs maintenance and that is money? So best way for you as an understanding student and knows your background, you will cut it which is way cheaper than having hair, sometimes you have to think about family situation as well , the hair can still grow after high school.

It makes kids feel like they are the same and equal. Takes pressure and competition and just focus on the studies.
