Wicked Truth :
My brain gets bogged down in rituals. Where I become so overwhelmed in thinking about the ritual, the steps, and what to do first. That I disconnect, and feel chaotic. Right or wrong my most effective actions have always been in the moment and intuitive. Lol I have learned to record myself so I can document later but I've lost a lot from before recording. Correspondence is also hard for me. Lists upon lists frustrates my brain. So I grab what I feel or dream regardless of what is written in a list. Now I still read everything and take notes because I love knowledge but in action I respond better to my internal voice in the moment or action. Planning is a real problem for me. I think everyone learns and processes information differently. If you lose the plot in the middle of a ritual then perhaps that doesn't work for you. My path is my own. Ya know. As for my connection with Hecate. I've always treated that as Friendship. Which I've also been told is wrong and disrespectful. Everyone has an opinion. 😊

I love your perspective! I agree to an extent, we spend so much time building and exploring the practice, but the connect is so important. As a comment here said before, I have a simillar problem, complicated rituals stress me the fvck out because of my ADHD. For example when I work with Santa Muerte, I’ve found I connect with her much better through prayer and intuitive rituals than through by the book stressful over complicated ceremonies. I also feel like some people are just naturally more connected to the source than others. I’m not dismissing the importance of work and education, but I truly believe some individuals just have that direct innate link. It’s different for everyone, of course. She has a beautiful altar at my place and I spend a lot of time effort and money to make it beautiful, but I know devotees who have incredibly strong connections just through prayer without a big fancy altar. I’m a firm believer that education and courses are important, but that personal connection is just as vital. I can see how it might come off as a bit… dismissive when framed otherwise. Anyway, love you and your content! 🖤

*looks around... I am on the wrong fyp. rituals and tools are just a focus. if you use rocks in your practice it should be because you like rocks, candles same things. some people like rituals bc they help them feel empowered. the reality is God's don't need tools to hear your prayers they can feel it in your energy your energy is determined by thought you don't even need words if you don't want them. "words have power" bc they help share our intention with other people it's how we share ideas between ourselves and others in the physical. all spell work is just manifestation with extra steps. I use string yarn and rope bc I crochet I call it "knot magic". your effort to learn and become a priestess is not for nothing bc that is a whole lot of energy you focused on communicating with one God one image. religion is a language and the more your practice it the more fluent you become the less u need the tools. I preform magic the very old way before money.

I don’t always do Rituals when everyone does. I send it when my heart says so. I thank when I see the signs. I’m a spiritual Witch ex Christian. Me making rituals when everyone is because of a “day,”makes it feels fake. I do it in silent.

Try doing a spell you know works with a modified ritual… then again each time removing some part of the ritual. It might work. Basically belief is your reality… if you emotionally and strongly believe your spell takes x ritual steps and y hours to work with all the right ingredients then you are right. If you emotionally and strongly believe a reality can solidify by asking Mickey Mouse to mote it so… it will. Your lense of magic is formed by your teachers and is correct because it works. But so is mine… but mine is easy without baggage. You may have unnecessary limitations too… so I encourage you to push and pull on your beliefs and rituals to see if your beliefs can be neuroplastically morphed

Exactly. 😭 Like if you personally don’t do rituals, fine. But saying ‘the gods are in my soul so rituals mean nothing’ in a way that dismisses people who actually dedicate time, energy, offerings, prayer, study, and ritual work is weirdly condescending. Devotion can look different for everyone without putting other practitioners down. ‘For me’ goes a long way.

Couldn’t be happier to be wasting time to become a priestess of Hekate lol. I enjoy learning and spending my time in service 🤷♀️it’s also lovely to do things like that spell for the country with my mom. Like if you don’t enjoy these types of things, probably it’s not your calling, because clearly, those people are not aligned with this calling 🤷♀️🖤🗝️🕯️
