Here’s the thing I don’t understand, in ch 5 of deltarune sans draws a picture of the “three friends” the thing in undertale, kind of proving that deltarune is a prequel, but this entry 17 the darker than dark implies that gaster was implying that he was messing around with creations of dark worlds and falling into his creation also implies that he fell into a dark world, so idk anymore what comes before what

My theory is that he tried to create an artificial dimension that the monsters could live in away from humans. Like a replication of the surface. And when he entered to see if it would work, it spread his consciousness across the coding of the new world and he became like a digital entity, being able to write new code and change the world how he likes. He added the ability for a human soul to gain access to the programming, hoping to use them to destroy the artificial world and ultimately set him free
