@check.blueprint: The fastest way to learn is to get into the water... literally. In the classic 1953 movie Hondo, John Wayne's character tosses a young boy into a pond to teach him how to swim. While the boy's mother protests, "Help him, he can't swim!", Wayne calmly replies: "Time he learned. Everybody should swim. Just reach out in front of you and grab a handful of water. Pull it back towards you." For new entrepreneurs, this is the ultimate lesson in starting a business. You cannot learn to be an entrepreneur by standing on the edge of the pool reading business books, watching tutorials, or writing endless business plans. At some point, you just have to jump in. The conditions will never be perfect, and you will feel like you are sinking at first. But the only way to figure out marketing, sales, product development, and leadership is to be in the water, frantically figuring out how to stay afloat. Reach out, grab a handful of water, and pull. Action creates competence. @check_blueprint Source: Hondo (1953) #entrepreneurship #businesslessons #johnwayne #mindsetshift #takeaction
