As an ambulance driver we still need to act under road laws. The mirror is a vital part and if smashed or gone the vehicle is off the road.

as someone who works with fleets like this, we always keep spares mirrors, light covers, bulbs, everything and we're taught how to fit everything ourselves.. so all it takes is one person to run it out and fit it and good to go again
