@nomsmag: 🚨 The famous Taiwanese mango drink chain is QUIETLY returning to Burnaby After three Metro Vancouver MACU Tea stores shut down in March, signage just went up for a new location on North Road, right beside Pizza Maru. The new shop sits in the Lougheed pocket and is run by a separate franchisee from the one behind the original three stores. That previous franchisee shut Robson, Burnaby, and Richmond earlier this year and reopened them as Alfa Tea, which many regulars have nicknamed "the MACU dupe." That left the Kerrisdale MACU Tea as the only one running in BC. North Road changes that. Founded in 2008 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, MACU Tea now has over 400 locations worldwide and is best known here for mango season lines wrapping out the door.
