@cstrendz: Team Bouldin : From Derrick: Yall truly don't understand how miserably frustrating and depressing this stuff is. I'm, by all accounts, a very strong willed, mentality and physically tough, a "don't give up, don't quit, minded type" This stuff here breaks all that down really easily and humbles even the strongest minds. "All you do is sleep" The sleep everyone talks about is all I can do to distract myself from the feeling of sharp razor blades running through my veins all over my entire body. It's not easy to do. The sleep is also forced by the dialysis itself. Losing certain amounts of blood from your body causes extreme fatigue. (Right, ladies?) The machine is designed to pull it out at a fairly fast rate. The faster, the "better" but the more it hurts. Every patient isn't the same. Well, because I do everything to the extreme and the best, lol, being end stage, the pull of blood for me is at the highest levels to get it cleaned to meet a certain clean percentage. Yeah, razor sharp pains all over my body at extremely fast rate. Awesome!! The headphones...intentional distraction. Yes, the gospel playing in my ears is used as encouragement. But I'm also shielding the sounds... beeping machines everywhere. The worst sounds tho... the constant sounds of agony from the older generation barely holding on being forced to do this because a family member decides 3 more years with grandma is needed while the hospital system drains her insurance yet tells her a kidney for her would be a waste. "Well, at least you're on stand by on the list" Yeah, the list. More people die waiting on that same list than who actually make it across the finish line to a kidney. And all "stand by" means, I'm literally waiting for someone else loved one to have a deadly accident and pray he's a match for me. Yeah, praying and preying on someone else's misfortune. Kinda not my thing. That's why I'm begging for a living kidney donor. It eliminates the list, the wait, the unfortunate death of another person's family member and I can actually thank and hug the person who saved my life. No more experiments of shares. No more gimmicks. No more trying to go viral for a kidney. Just Honesty and looking for a good Samaritan with a small piece of humanity in them. Or maybe my son and wife and family will be ok knowing i died hopeful fighting.
