![Authentic Kashmiri Wazwan in Dammam 🇮🇳🇸🇦 To a Kashmiri, Wazwan is much more than just a meal; it is tradition. Hosting a Wazwan is considered the highest form of Mehman Nawazi (hospitality). It is the centerpiece of weddings, religious festivals, and significant life events.These elaborate feasts can typically take up to two days to prepare. I brought my Kashmiri colleague Ali along, and he honestly didn’t expect to find this level of authenticity in the Eastern Province! If you are new to the experience, I highly recommend getting the Single Wazwan Plate. At 100 SAR, this platter can easily serve 3 people though both Ali and I managed to polish it off between us. The attention to detail is fabulous and the food comes served in a silver platter, just as it would be at a Kashmiri wedding. It gives you a fantastic sampling of their best offerings, including: • Tabakhmaz: My absolute personal favourite! • Goshtab & Rista: Perfectly spiced and tender. • Kebabs: Delicious, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. • Rich Curries: It comes with flavorful side dishes like Mirchi Korma, Rogan Josh. I absolutely loved the curries, kebabs and most importantly the incredibly flavourful 'Tabakhmaz'. The rice is pretty simple and thick though and personally I would have preferred some Biryani rice but being true to their roots wins my respect. If you are coming with a larger group, they also offer the Wazwan Family Pack for 300 SAR. While the food is phenomenal, the restaurant itself is currently quite small. It is also highly recommended that you call them before you go to ensure availability and space.
