@yourmusiceducation: The ‘70s was an era of transformation for pop music! This trio of 🇬🇧 UK Number ones takes us from the beginning of the decade with a mix of rock and vocal pop through glam rock, a little bit of 2 tone ska revival, dance/disco music, and closing out with some early synthpop sounds leading into the digital revolution that would be the ‘80s. On the video front, many of the early footage is from live shows and simple promo videos. Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” changed everything and, along with Top of the Pops weekly video segments, helped kickstart the European music video innovation more than 5 years before MTV would launch in the US. This set the stage for British acts to dominate the US music industry through the first half of the ‘80s. This video has such a tremendous variety of sounds on it, and it’s always a wonder to me why the ‘70s seems to be one of the most neglected and overlooked decades of the rock era of popular music history. #musichistory #music #yourmusiceducation #nostalgia #70s

That is absolutely probably the best reel I have seen in absolutely ages - my entire era of music growing up as a teen - there wasn’t a single song I didn’t know! We were so into the fabulous music around us in those days. I am overflowing with beautiful nostalgia right now! Genius, pure genius! Thank you 🙏 ❤️
