The first clip is from 2023, after I had lost 100 pounds. I remember taking the video because I was about to wear that outfit for the first time on a night out with friends, and I wanted to see how it looked. I decided not to wear it because after watching the video back I felt soooo insecure. I thought to myself: “you still have a long way to go”. Fast forward to 2026, not only did i not reach my goal, i went backwards. I gained so much of it back. Now, looking back, my biggest regret isnt that I didn’t reach my goal. It’s that I wasn’t kinder to myself back then. It’s so easy to look at a picture of ourselves, and pick it apart. Back then, I was doing that constantly. What I didnt realize, is that the more critical I was, the less I stopped showing up for myself. I stopped running, I stopped meal prepping, and eventually I lost my path. Ultimately this led to me not maintaining my results. Despite how hard it was to learn this lesson, I’m grateful. I don’t feel like I’m back at square one. This time around, I’m in it for the long haul because I’m choosing self love and acceptance from the beginning, not just at the end. For anyone on a fitness journey, let this be a lesson to always be kind to yourself, and that you’re beautiful exactly as you are ❤️
