@ohyanametaty: Okay so I want to start off by saying if you can watch it in IMAX or Dolby pleaseeeee do! I watched it in IMAX and was not disappointed. I loved Kitana!!! & yes, the opening scene had me tearing up )-: This movie is what the first one tried to be. You can tell the writers and directors listened to the complaints and used them as constructive criticism instead of dismissing them. This very obviously caters to franchise fans, so if you are looking for a super polished, well rounded film, this probably will not be your thing. But as a Mortal Kombat 2 movie? Honestly, it gives you exactly what you would expect in the best way possible. The fights are soooo cool as hell, the characters actually feel recognizable this time around, and it fully leans into the chaos for the hell of it instead of trying to ground everything in unnecessary seriousness cough M*****cough. This movie just wants to have fun. All in all, I liked it. It is dumb, loud, fan-service heavy, corny, and fully insists upon itself.
