@pamelaspassport: It still surprises me every time… eggs just sitting on shelves in Europe 😅 In the U.S., eggs are washed, which removes their natural coating—so they have to be refrigerated. In many European countries, that coating stays intact, so they don’t. Same eggs, different process 🥚 #european #europeansummer #europeanfood #traveltok #europetravel

This is the normal natural way. The abnormal way is to wash them first with water and bleach solution and then be forced to keep them refrigerated.

I saw a video of a farmer who showed that eggs don’t rot… they just dry out. They need to be stored properly tho.

Norway keeps them refrigerated. You may keep them in room temperature, but they keep longer refrigerated, months past best before date

How many Americans are still wondering about unrefrigerated eggs in Europe? If the eggs are washed, as is done in the USA, they lose their natural outer coating and therefore need to be refrigerated. In Europe, eggs are not normally washed.

You refrigerate them when you arrive home so they last longer, at least in hot countries like mine. (Spain)

the ones that are outside the refrigerator are the most healthy ones, the unwashed ones. The washed ones shouldn't be eaten.

it's simple, if u don't wash away the chicken given egg protection, they don't need to be chilled, also Europe isn't a country, there some countries on the continent of Europe they chill there eggs 😉

In the U.S., eggs are washed before being sold, which removes their natural protective layer, so they must be refrigerated. In Europe, eggs usually aren’t washed, so they keep that natural protection and can be stored outside the fridge in supermarkets.
