First should have been. Both marketing and Players hyped up the consequences to a level that could not be reality.

i have to disagree the suicide mission is so satisfying because depending on your choices like who goes into the vent a squad mate will die and even if you don't go quick enough after the crew get kidnapped you lose more crew

It feels hollow because, while on its own it’s a great story, set between the first and third games stories it actually has very little progression towards the end goal, in reality by the start of the third game, the only real difference between the end of first and beginning of the third game is you have a new ship and some new friends, taking out the collectors does very little in the overall war as they’re just the big bad guys lap dogs and repairs are still harvesting all species regardless if the collectors are there or not
