i absolutely hate it because first of all credit as a whole is ridiculous but second of all why would credit go down when you pay off debts when you need high credit scores to get an apartment, house, or car

I just paid off 17k in credit card debt/loan and honestly the weight of not owning that anymore beats out what my score might be.

They naturally move up and down, part of your score is having a balance to pay. It’ll go back up quickly if you continue to use it

problem is you're paying it off too fast- a little tilted that the ones loaning the money give you a score about how good you are to loan money to 😆

As my accountant teacher once said, “Your credit score is just a number meant to show how good you are at staying in debt.”

It was probably one of your older loans. How the credit score works is on a system of how timely you are in paying, how old your loan accounts are and the amounts and such. When you pay off an older account it drops the score because you no longer have that length of time helping the score. It’s a huge pain that it doesn’t account for loans paid off or bills paid and works against most people which is shityy

The credit score is less about total balance and more about continuous payments. It's a subscription service to not be treated like a felon when you apply for an apartment or a loan

well paying off a 20k loan is not necessarily the responsible thing it really mostly depends on the interest rate. if the interest rate is like higher than 8% its responsible if its lower than 4% paying it off is not really advised and its better to just invest

They just want to play games with you. If you're too responsible then they can't make too much money off of you.
