This is about a father who was never around. This is about someone who existed. My "father" was a man who only put himself first. He never met my kids, his grandkids. He was never an existing person in my life nor theirs. When he passed I cried my eyes out and was distant for a long time, not because he was a figure in our life's, but because I grieved who he was supposed to be. The person I begged to be in my life and love me and my babies. I found that unconditional love with my babies and a man who took me as his daughter. Life is sad but can be beautiful with love.

I grew up with a mother who was very self centred and had traits of being a narcissistic. I’ve had experiences of extreme abuse growing up and in my adult life and even though it’s hard not having her in my life anymore it was even more painful having her in my life.

this is how I always operated, I wanted to be the best mom. I struggled and made crappy choices, but I'm hoping they know I did my best. I had a great mom, but my dad wasn't always top notch

when a mother has a child or children that breaks there heart in ways that will never heal. when the mother only lived for her children or child. its like letting abuser break you. but lives with hope one day the child or children will wake up and do the right thing ... I’m an “auntie mom” and felt this. Realizing my mother was treating my nieces the same way she treated me pushed me to go no contact. They deserved to see that they don’t have to tolerate it.
