Have y’all seen this Amazon flat mop and bucket set trending on social media? Influencers keep talking about how awesome it is for floors and walls. I personally love a flat mop, especially for cleaning hardwood flooring; so when I saw that it’s supposed to separate the clean water from the dirty water, I immediately purchased it. It retails for over $45. I was so excited to test it out. At first glance, I thought the mop was very well made, and the microfiber pads are high quality. BUT my excitement QUICKLY went down the tubes. As you can see in my video, the design of the bucket is not great. There’s absolutely no way to prevent dirty water from spilling over into the clean water side. When I stick the mop into the dirty side to wring out the water, that water spills over into the clean side over the top of the bucket lid and through an open channel located between the dirty and clean side. It looks like a water fall. No matter how slow you move the mop through the wringer, dirty water WILL get into the clean side. I shared my experience in my stories the moment I discovered this back in July. I was so sad because I bought this based on the reviews of influencers I had trusted. I was even more disappointed to find out they really didn’t test it out or pay attention to see if it was operating the way the brand says it should. I decided to turn my stories into a Reel in hopes of getting the word out and saving y’all money. I tested the JoyMoop brand, but all of them are made by the same manufacturer just branded under a different name. Final thoughts: If you’re looking for a flat mop and bucket set that separates the clean from the dirty water, this is not it. If you don’t care about that, then I do think this is a good mop set. It comes with three high quality microfiber pads. The wringing system is very effective at removing excess moisture, which is so important when cleaning wood floors.
