I do both of them on VScode terminal cli set up, I boosted my productivity 4x and also use some of the gemini chat ( free ) for explaining things so i save a lot tokens

honestly, get both, use claude until you hit your limit (which u will do) then use gpt while u wait for it to reset

I tested both of them in writing code with my skill for code style and results almost the same line by line but where I got differences codex did better, so claude is over hyped by vibecoders, with good prompt codex is better and has higher limits
