I’m undiagnosed, but I relate to autistic experiences, and I am diagnosed (maybe misdiagnosed) with depression and anxiety, which I’ve been open with at jobs. This unfortunately led to them treating me badly (probably also due to them picking up on my autism) and as a result I was either bullied or excluded at all my jobs

May I please ask, if you receive any benefits now that you’re unemployed? I’m struggling to get anything other than JSA, but I can’t work and don’t want to go through the AUDHD burnout employment cycle again

Were jobs all in big corporations? I’ve found small business are usually (defo not always) more caring about their workers.

I had to beg for set days. It resorted to me crying under the till because the random days were frying my nervous system. They eventually gave me set days so I had a routine but I was so burnt out at that point my body didn't have enough time to recover on my days off 😩 the irony was my store manager was in the process of getting an adhd assessment 🤦🏼♀️

I haven’t worked since September and the management at ny last place place told me I was asking stupid questions, I’m slow, I need to do more, that I don’t work fair shifts and everyone has a problem with it. They literally drove me out of the job. I am traumatised. My dream job is no job :)

When adjustments were put in place for me at my previous job folk started being weird with me too and it took a toll on my mh.

Reasonable adjustments are just a box ticking exercise for HR departments. I’ve asked before and it’s OK for a short time…until it’s not. It’s so difficult having to constantly self advocate for yourself when you’re running on empty. I wish employers understood us more 😣

I'm really sorry this happened to you. I hear this so much and it's happened to me multiple times. I don't understand why this happens when it's discrimination.

I was undiagnosed at the time but I was treated so badly at my old job that I ended up walking out mid shift having a massive meltdown after being screamed at me for doing something wrong (still have no idea what I did wrong btw, I swear I did what she told me) The manager wouldn't hear my side of the story so I handed in my notice a day later and then I was diagnosed with audhd later that year. They knew I was waiting for my assessment, they just didn't care.

I feel forced to work. I have a good job, yet it’s all masking. Ruins my actual real life, my personal life. I have no choice though, as I’m considered ‘high functioning’, hence no support….

Do you have any hobbies you could pick up a little bit of money doing? Between jobs I used to sell plants and aquatics which are two of my hobbies
