I keep feeling like the reason people are making AI that makes visual art and creative writing is because they really want to do that stuff too, but they're scared to have to make something that has their vulnerable human fingerprints on it. And I have so much sympathy for that, it's really scary. But it's also fun, and I feel sorry that they can't let themselves enjoy it.

That video went a different direction then I thought at the end. I loved the humility and vulnerability in the beginning. I think we should all do to support the arts. Fine art has value outside of it seeming smart it tells us something about our existence, our selves. I wish engineers had more time to make art and go to those cultural institutions, I think many are just too burned out and pressured to live more fulfilling lives.

OMG YES I’ve been taking about this for yearrrss!! Steve Jobs, Jack Dorsey and other founders of twitter and Square, Stewart Butterfield -slack , Brian chesky - Airbnb, Ivan Zhao- notion, allll studied artttt/design and more said they wanted to be artist were into fashion photography, painting, and more and I meet so many engineers that just had to stuff their selves down into STEM ughh
