the level of control and concern over ADHD meds is extreme. I understand it for ones that are easy to crush or whatever. But of the 5 people I know with ADHD, I'm the only person who is willing to take a med. I'm in Vyvanse and often forget it til around lunch.

My pharmacist arbitrarily started not letting me fill clonazepam until the 31st day, which is so stressful because it means I run out for a day and I’ll be out for at least 2-3 days if that 31st day falls on a Saturday or Sunday. Just because they feel like it.

generic options not working as well as others is such a big issue with ADHD meds. I get that its a common misunderstanding that generics in general dont work as well as brands, but that doesn't mean thats true for every case

This made me emotional because sooo many women are struggling silently while trying to hold everything together 😭 I spent years feeling distracted, overstimulated and completely drained while everyone expected me to function normally. Add bad digestion and cravings on top of it and i felt hopeless. Then i found Eat Like a Woman Protocol (by Loren Green) through a women’s forum and wow… 31 lbs gone, calmer moods and steady energy for the first time in forever. Crazy how connected everything is tbh)

I take the same med as her son, Concerta, and bc of how it is made and the mechanics of how it is released generics can be really tricky. They are not made the same

I had that problem with albuterol inhalers …. The brand I have been receiving is absolute trash & the pharmacist refuses to give me a better brand even though I’m willing to pay cash - this is CVS pharmacy

...its also been a well talked about thing lately that certain manufacturers aren't as effective. I would say that yes insurance might not cover it but ill call and see what I can do if not let's find a coupon or something that will make the cash price cheaper and it should be fine for the next fill. it wouldnt have even been an issue about filling the control early given the situation

I don’t care what the manufacturer says, I can ABSOLUTELY tell the difference between generics. I’ve had some Adderalls that were gifts from god and I’ve had some that were overpriced tictacs but my pharmacy would swear they were the same. I shouldn’t be flagged for calling that out

As a prescriber, I love writing notes to the pharmacy in that section on the order "change in dose, pt doubling up on remaining med, okay to fill early" etc for my controlled substances, particularly for stimulants or pregabalin

I take Vyvanse and when the generic form came out my pharmacy gave it to me. It gave me massive headaches and did not help. I immediately had to go to my doctor to get a new script and they were able to fill it.

Finding the right ADHD medication for your child is a journey. It’s absolutely not a one size fits all. It’s not like she could just keep her kid home for two weeks.
