ᰋ. #WANDERER : i lowkey feel like the symbolism of wanderer‘s character isn’t talked about enough. his character development is one of the most insane ones, if not the most insane one i have ever discovered💔 he refused to accept the sins he had committed and therefore erased his own existence (which can also be seen as a suicide attempt). he could no longer bear the burden on his shoulders. then, when his sins were practically erased as well, since they no longer belonged to reality, he returned as the wanderer. innocent, without emotion, without a true heart. when the wanderer subsequently discovered who he once was and delved into kabukimono's and scaramouche's past, which was also his own, he realized that everything that had happened to him, everything he had done or had done or experienced (including every single one of his betrayals), whether good or bad, had made him who he was. he believed he needed all of this in order to have emotions… to be more human (i know he’s not human, but we all know that‘s what he wanted to be, especially as kabukimono). when he finally regained his memories, and thus his former personality with nahida‘s help, he began to heal, to show his good heart that he had been hiding the entire time again, and to understand that the actions of the person he once was were wrong (as he confirms in the nod krai archon quest). nevertheless, all of this is what made him the person he is.. and since many people go through similar experiences, through things they may deeply regret having done or not done, I strongly believe that wanderer‘s character and story are more than just part of a game. he has become incredibly dear to me, and it saddens me how many overlook his story and his incredible development. so, thank you for reading to those who did🥹🥹 remember who you are and accept yourself; and yes, even your former self !! because all of that is part of who you are 🩵 PLUS. if hoyo actually makes wanderer die in 6.6 I‘m for SURE gonna quit the game… it doesn’t make sense to me to kill him off. yes, he still thinks that a quiet death is the fate he deserves, but does that mean that it’s what he should get?? no, it means the OPPOSITE. If wanderer survives (including the fact that he will experience everyone remembering him as scaramouche as soon as Irminsul burns), his character will only improve even further. he will (hopefully) realize that there’s more to life than the fate he thinks he deserves.
