wait i agree that there’s a lack of unity amongst people of color but “everyone besides black people just want proximity to whiteness” is just harmful and untrue. ALL people of color still hold a lot of internalized “racism” towards other minority groups because of colonialism and extreme nationalism (i put quotes around racism bc amongst poc there’s a bit more nuance to whether someone is affected by racism or not). like idk if i missed your point or something but that just doesn’t seem right

Absolutely agree in the no poc unity but singling out black people/the black community and simultaneously dissing every other minority group by saying we want proximity to whiteness is insane and literally doing the opposite of uniting us,the second people stop generalizing different minority groups and arguing as to which one is “better” or not “feeding into whiteness” and start treating all poc together is the second we actually become the majority win power

agreed but i’ve seen it just as prevalent amongst black people as well. seems like poc in general (asian, black, etc) want white ppl approval but there are also some people in every group that are proud of their culture. just depends where you go. i think all poc need to come together including black, hispanic, asian etc

As someone that didn’t grow up with a lot of white ppl and then going to a place with a lot of white ppl you can lowkey feel that shit in the air that they don’t like you being there. So when other poc are like obsessed with this image that whiteness “offers” them it baffles me cuz can you not tell? Like even if they’re not blatantly racist or rude they never take you seriously. They merely find you amusing at best I’ve realized. Not every white person but definitely when there is a large quantity of them.
