I’m in the electroplating business. That’s real copper. I don’t know the purity but it’s probably in the 90% at least? It’ll polish up NICELY Too!

Learn what electroplating is, dude. They use it to coat the cups to make them super shiny. The cup is copper, the shiny copper plating wears off in little time.

aluminum isn’t magnetic either so the only way to really know if you cut completely through it so you could see the center of the material

My biggest complaint about Cu drinkware is the Cu conducts heat so well that your drinks will never stay cold. Pretty, though.

it's shiny because it's polished. some people might lacquer the shiny surface to keep it shiny longer. otherwise you just polish it a couple of times a year like you would your silver if you had a silver tea service it gets polished just like the copper

Copper cups are awesome. I don't have any like that. I've gotten mugs, but they're still awesome. I've even got copper bird baths from my birds outside

Use the cups for a few months. You'll see. They are copper dipped in melted copper with an electric current going through it. Which makes them plated with a super shiny coating. C'mon, dude. You MUST know what electroplating is. Google it, if you don’t.
