It can be painless IF you don’t have previous scarring or endometriosis, if you do it will hurt. It’s of course diff for everyone but it was painful for me who has stage 4 endometriosis and pelvic adhesive disease.

i was so nervous for my HSG test, but mine was painless! the only thing i “felt” was when they pumped up the balloon on the catheter to hold it in place! i’m just putting my experience out there for others who may be nervous like i was! 🤍🫂
