at risk of asking a maybe stupid question: why was it that MLK felt his approach civil rights was a mistake/causing harm rather than simply something that he realized he should have done differently but was still ultimately progress? if that makes sense? as in like what made the difference between "i did this wrong and now we're in a worse (at least in some ways) place" vs "i havent done enough and i need to move us in a different direction going forward". genuinely really curious!!
