This take implies that the entertainment industry is below good quality journalism. The entertainment industry deserves good journalists. The artists deserve to be asked solid questions, and recieve follow-up questions from interviewers that LISTEN, and aren't just reading off of cue cards. These journalists also include reviewers and critics, who themselves should have a knowledge of the industry that they are reviewing so that YOU, the audience, have a fair understanding of the quality of the work before you decide to spend your hard earned money on it.

i don’t think most people realize that 99% of celebrity interviews are just puff pieces with label approved questions and trained answers. as someone with a journalism degree i completely agree that you don’t need it to do what he’s doing. he’s an PR figure first, an entertainer second, and maybe a journalist third
