no disrespect but thats not in series. if you get in series you put the lead under terminal you pulled off the wire and read milliamps.

I understand this but how would you source? I understand instrumentation the 4-20 / 0-10vdc analog signals but applying them like hands on is a different story.

About 10 yrs ago, I got a "promotion" to an office staff position and had to pass on all my company owned tools and meters onto my replacement. I found that I still needed tools and meters, I had a Fluke 27 DMM and a Megger IR. I bought a cheap "Mr Signal" multi function meter..... Still use it, cost £100ish, absolutely brilliant for the money. In comparison to a Fluke it's throw away money
