@aeriscarter: Today’s original plan was to premiere a new Claire Redfield cosplay that I ended up patterning myself and sewing from scratch entirely by hand over the span of dozens of hours, 🪡🧵 but alas, fate had other plans. And by fate, I mean my concussion, 🤕 which led me to misplace my white thread just as I needed it to put the finishing touches on my costume. Fortunately, after spending over an hour frantically cleaning my apartment, 🧹 I did find the white thread again exactly where I’d left it, so it will be ready for tomorrow, 🗓️ but I only found it after I’d ordered more, of course lol. 😭 So now I’m posting the video I intended for Mother’s Day early instead. Clearly, Leon’s line of work pays well, 💵 judging by his Resident Evil 9 Porsche, and it stands to reason that Sherry is bringing home a decent paycheck herself as his coworker lol. Claire Redfield has an ABSURD amount of boots. 👢 Almost as many boots as Claudia has dolls in Interview with the Vampire lol 🧛🏻‍♀️ And I ask where does this boot budget come from? Surely TerraSave is barely paying Claire a living wage lol. 😂 So maybe Claire, in her passion for shiny boots of leather, always gets a pair for Mother’s Day or some other special occasion lol. 🎁 As for how I acquire my boots, I mainly thrift them! Not only can you easily snag a multi hundred dollar pair of leather, namebrand boots for less than you can get a pair of low quality vegan leather kicks from your local department store, 🛒 but worn boots are waaaaayyyy more comfortable and less likely to blister. Leather is stiff until it is worn in, and it brushes painfully against your skin. Secondhand boots are easy to clean with a bit of saddle soap and mink oil and some anti bacterial spray on the inside and BAM, suddenly you’re kicking around comfy and cheap. Switching to real leather boots from sneakers was a life changing decision as someone who walks an average of five miles a day for work. All of the boots I’m holding are for Claire Redfield cosplays (although I also wear them in daily life).
