Yeah but in your analogy the person knows that the invitation exists in the first place. If we apply it to what it was depicting, god „inviting“ us to join him in heaven, the person might not know whether that invitation is real, but knows that the invitation would shape his life in a way that the person might not like or enjoy without knowing whether the invitation was real. That’s the difference that most people forget. How can you have rejected a invitation that you didn’t even know existed or whether it was real or not in the first place? That’s the nuance you need to add, which in this case you didn’t. You assumed that Gods invitation was convincing enough to be real for everybody when in reality it isn’t, many aren’t convinced it exists.

But the analogie is wrong. I wasn't invited to the party by the host. I was told by somebody else that they were invited to a party and I would be a bad person if I didn't come, but all without getting an invitation myself.
