i completely agree with your message. if you feel comfortable sharing, which SSRI are you on? i have severe OCD and i have been on clomipramine for 5+ years and it has been wonderful, but im considering transitioning to Zoloft to treat OCD as well as GAD. i’m curious if you have experience with Zoloft and if you find it beneficial?

Lexapro saved my life! My anxiety and depression was overwhelming before. I can’t imagine trying to do life especially now without it.

I was hit with OCD at age 10 in 1963. They didn’t know what it was then. There was not a diagnosis for it.

I of course on top of my ocd an other diagnoses have 2 intermediate metabolizers where basically my body doesn’t break down ssri’s properly so I’m in the process of having my psychiatrist help me figure out alternatives. It’s so exhausting because ssri’s are so affective for want I’m going through and my body reacts horribly to them 🫠

psychiatric meds have ruined and helped my life i still take meds but that because I don’t want to withdrawal and get worse mirtazapine that I got put ok in 2022 fucked my life up would never touch that drug again i lost my self almost died cause of the med

As a psychiatric NP.. this narrative is infuriating. Before I prescribe an SSRI, I’m ruling out thyroid issues, vitamin deficiencies, hormonal imbalances. Then insurance denies half the labs and my patient owes $800 just for the workup. We’re not overprescribing. We’re doing our best in a system that blocks proper care and then blames the clinician holding the prescription pad. Want to reduce psychiatric meds? Start by making healthcare actually accessible!

I've been on Paxil for over 30 years, my doctor told me he won't ever take me off of it because the withdrawal is really bad. with that being said, he doesn't prescribe it for people anymore
