@kirramichel: LETS PLAY = Flying Pigeon AKA Eka Pada Galavasana This is a little more advanced in terms of arm balances. And I do 100% recommend having a solid Crow before Attempting this baby. 1️⃣ Lots of hip openers to get ready. Malasana, Pigeon, Figure 4 standing, seated, and/or reclined. 2️⃣ Figure 4 Anterior Core work will allow you find your Flying Pigeon position without having to balance or use arm strength, while strengthening your core. 3️⃣ Push-ups help build your arm strength (slow and steady are my favs 4️⃣ Protraction!!!! Massive in Flying Pigeon (& Crow, Forearm, Head and Handstand and SO many other inversions and asanas/ postures) Scapula Push-ups target this movement, can be done on knees for regression. Keep them slow! 5️⃣ From Standing Figure 4 - the foot position is everything! Flex your foot and wrap toes around your upper arm. This is your grip/ lock!! Fold in upon yourself, hands to the ground (or blocks to regress) PROTRACT shoulders and PUSH Glide your weight forward, lift & fly. (Extending the back leg comes in time.... Don't rush it. But DO lift it high, seems harder, but is actually easier, not as heavy, once you figure it out) Fun facts: Face-planting happens (and counts) while you're learning. Put a cushion in front of you to ease the fall. And know you're going to probably suck at it for a while before it 'clicks'. Keep at it!
