Pentecost Sunday - A Call to Wake Up the Church 🕊️🔥 Two thousand years ago, one seemingly ordinary morning in Jerusalem, 120 believers gathered in an Upper Room with nothing but a promise. Jesus didn’t give them a strategy, a program, or a ministry blueprint. He gave them one instruction: “Wait until you are clothed with power from on high.” And they waited. They prayed. They obeyed. Then suddenly…He came. The Holy Spirit came in like a rushing wind. Fire descended from heaven and rested on each one. And the God who once dwelled in temples made of stone now filled human hearts with His presence. Those same disciples who had been hiding in fear were transformed in a moment. The timid became bold. The silent became preachers. The scattered became an army. The ordinary became unstoppable. They stepped into the streets with a fire the world had never seen - preaching to thousands, healing the sick, casting out demons, enduring persecution, and refusing to bow even when it cost them their lives. Why? Because they had encountered the Spirit of the Living God. And Church, that same Spirit has not changed. He has not retired. He has not weakened. He has not stopped moving. He did not cease with the apostles. He did not withdraw His gifts when the canon closed. He did not call us to a powerless Christianity. The dunamis power that shook Jerusalem is still available today. But too many believers have settled for a form of godliness with no power thereof. Too many churches have traded fire for comfort. Too many Christians have accepted survival when Jesus promised signs that follow those who believe. Today, on Pentecost Sunday, the call is simple: Be filled again. Be baptized in the Holy Spirit and fire. Ask Him to stir what has grown cold. Ask Him to ignite what has grown dull. Ask Him to awaken what has fallen asleep. Because Jesus Himself said: “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Mark 16:17–18 (KJV) This is not optional.
