An NBA legend was involved in a five year long international drug smuggling case to Bermuda. In 2020 Kevin Garnett, an NBA MVP award winner & widely recognised as one of the greatest players of his generation, financed two Bermudians (court documents only show their last names: Crockwell and Morris) to visit New York to discuss a business venture, a legitimate practice proven by documentation from the Bermuda Registrar's Office and the Bermudian attorney representing the accused. But this is where it gets really interesting. Garnett is seen on CCTV arriving in a convoy of three black SUVs to the Bermudians' privately chartered plane at Teterboro Airport, New Jersey. The footage then shows an airport porter (who emerged from the same SUV as Garnett) transporting six large black duffel bags from the SUV to the plane. Upon arrival in Bermuda, both Crockwell and Morris were arrested by the Bermuda Police Service as part of a BPS, FBI, DEA task force. But before officers could get their hands on the six bags, an unidentified man (described in court documents as a white man with shoulder length hair) arrived to claim the baggage. After noticing the police presence, the man left without them & has never been identified. Inside those duffle bags were more than 600 lbs of marijuana. What followed was a drawn-out, behind-closed-doors legal trial that went all the way to the Supreme Court. Ultimately, the case was dismissed earlier this year, with no explanation of what happened or why. As Trevor Lindsay described it, it was
