Some clarifications since this blew up: 1. We got there by MISTAKE. We were trying to do the Kuli’ou’ou Ridge Trail but ended up on the wrong trail by accident (it was poorly signed) 2. This trail is NOT illegal (and it’s not stairway to Heaven) 3. We did NOT get rescued or put any first responder's life at risk, unlike what some ppl are saying 4. Since we thought we were doing a 3-hour hike, we were obviously underprepared for the 8-hour hike we ended up doing 5. It was not supposed to rain. 6. Yeah, we got scared when it started raining and realized we were obviously on the wrong trail, but overall we enjoyed ourselves (yes! some people like hiking) 7. The views were amazing until it got foggy 8. We are not American, not that it matters
