Peppermint Tea! So so good for the wind. Especially if for some reason you end up having csection. It’s great either way. Slippers for the toilets. The best snack you will find will be the hospital toast and butter. You can request any time, they always get you. I would also add extra pair of compression socks as I am not sure if they give you one after vaginal delivery, for Csection they do! Keep light cool clothes. The wards can get very warm , I had both mine in winters and I would still sweat in there 😁 you can get these granny knickers with wider area for pads from Asda too in case you need more. And they are good quality. Second time around my husband wasn’t allowed to stay overnight so he would bring me daily snacks on the day so I don’t waste them. From my experience, I don’t think you will eat as much as you think. I had dry snacks. Crisps, biscuits to have with my brew, nuts, and a chocolate. If I craved anything, I would just get it from the cafe even though I had a section. Storage for if they ask you to take of your jewellery. I don’t know about vaginal requirement but you never know!

Also definitely recommend the Frida mom disposable boyshorts. They hold the large pads really well, the hospital should have some large thick pads for you to use so definitely make the most of those but my hospitals weren’t stick in so need supportive underwear!

I gave birth in June and the hospital was absolutely boiling they do have fans you can use but they don’t have many at all it was hard enough for us to get one, I’d recommend buying a handheld fan or a mini desk fan off of Amazon

Hobnobs, flapjacks etc and Lucozade, I had the lucozade sport like the juice type ones! Oats are amazing for milk production and lucozade is good for electrolytes!

I’m a midwife, and I remember you mentioned wanting to try breastfeeding — that’s amazing! 😊 I’d definitely recommend getting a nursing bra; they’re so easy to use, you just unclip the strap at the top and drop the cup down to feed, which makes things much simpler. I’d also suggest having Lucozade handy. You probably won’t feel like eating much during labour, so it’s really important to stay hydrated and keep your energy up — Lucozade is perfect for this and tends to work better than most other drinks. Small bottles of apple juice are great too! When you’re not eating or drinking much, your ketone levels can rise, and apple juice helps bring them back down. You could also take a speaker along so you can play your own music; it’s brilliant for helping you relax and stay calm. Sometimes hospitals have them available, but they don’t always work properly! Most of the women I’ve cared for really loved having their own music — it was such a good way to take their mind off labour too. Having flip flops is extremely handy. If I think of anything else I will comment but that’s what came to my mind automatically. ❤️🫶

If it’s hot, I suggest a thermos flask with ice in it. It helped my sister out and she was so glad ❤️
