@rivafitness: First ever open water swim done YAY😃✨ Safe to say the first 10 minutes were a massive shock to the system, not ot being able to see anything in front of you except brown/green water, the cold, the waves, it’s very different to swimming in a pool. I was so close to calling it after the first few attempts because I could barely go more than a few seconds without stopping, but once I calmed down and got into a rhythm, I actually really enjoyed it. Definitely nowhere near as smooth or continuous as my pool swimming, but for a first attempt I’m really happy with it. Half Ironman in 4 weeks, full Ironman in October, and an Olympic triathlon next weekend in a lake so it felt like it was finally time to get some proper open water practice in.
