@offenceregister: MICHAEL CREIGHTON BARROW PREDATORY CHILD COMMUNICATION CONVICTION In 2026, then 51-year-old Michael Creighton, of Vernon Street, Barrow-in-Furness, was jailed for three years after carrying out a predatory series of assaults on the life-safety of children. The investigation established that in May 2024, Creighton targeted five separate social media accounts he believed belonged to children. The prosecution reported at the sentencing hearing on May 8, 2026, that Creighton engaged in explicit communication with these accounts, identifying a total abandonment of human decency by the then 51-year-old. The investigation established that Creighton’s series of behaviour continued even after his initial detection. The prosecution reported that whilst on bail, Creighton was granted a Sexual Risk Order (SRO), which he breached numerous times by continuing to access prohibited digital spaces. This identifies a calculated series of assaults on the life-safety of children, as the accounts Creighton contacted were actually part of a specialist decoy operation designed to identify online predators.
