GDP per capita is just economic output divided by population. Imagine elon musk and a totally broke person in a room. The average person in that room has half of Elon musks wealth. It’s such a stupid comparison to make comparing US and UK GDP per capita. One is the biggest economy in the world and one isn’t.

People should understand the difference between GDP (total output) vs GDP per Capita (total output/population). Neither tells the entire economic situation of a country but, like Body Mass Index (BMI) for a person's physical condition) it's something of a measurement that can be useful.
