Toothpicks are (partly) made of wood because wood is softer than enamel. If you cannot guarantee that your metal toothpick is softer than your teeth, then your just asking for them to crack and wear away.

the worst thing is a quick Google search told me these aren't even the most expensive toothpicks... Swarovski have one for $40,000... Harrods have one for $25,000... both of these are apparently as I can no longer find evidence for this... maybe you can find some...

I think it’s the hilariously priced SILVER one, at $1,150 that’s the most bonkers. The fact that it’s require polishing and would tarnish wildly is the proverbial icing.
