@agatemagnet: Carnelian rock hunting in S.W. WA state!! WA state's state rock is petrified wood, but in my opinion, it should be Carnelian because I've never seen such amazing Carnelian finds anywhere else! The dark reds are what I live for! When I find Carnelian, my adrenaline and heart start pacing so fast! There's just something about it that I feel, like a positive, fun energy!
