I think his vampire side is kinda obvious as to how it’s “under qualified” but I will give my reasoning for doing it that way instead of the breather being it. So, for essentially all of the seasons, he continuously puts down his more vampiric side. I see this as it being more underdeveloped, as seen with his fangs being bigger than what his mouth can handle. This is more of a headcanon but I see it as his fangs didn’t grow with him as much as the others since he didn’t regularly use them. In this case, they are stunted in growth—just like his entire vampire side to his identity. Now, for his breather or human half, it’s overqualified as that’s one that he identified more with throughout all of his years. I have not finished season 5, and I know something happens with that half of him, but these are my thoughts prior to season 5 essentially.
