One of the biggest mistakes I see with knee straightening after knee replacement is only stretching the hamstrings and ignoring the other areas that can keep your knee from fully straightening. If your knee is stuck in a few degrees of bend, you need to think beyond the back of the thigh. To improve knee straightening, you may also need to work on: ✔️ your calves ✔️ the front of your hip / hip flexors ✔️ your inner thigh muscles ✔️ different areas of the hamstrings In this video, I’m showing a few of my favorite ways to target those areas: • a runner’s stretch with a quad contraction, then lifting the arms overhead to open up the front of the hip • a seated inner thigh stretch • a seated hamstring stretch with a quad contraction, stretching to the inside, middle, and outside to target different parts of the hamstrings If you’re struggling to get your knee fully straight, the answer usually isn’t just to “stretch more.” You need a structured plan and the right strategy.
